Northern California Black Car Service · CPUC TCP 0039081A
Marin's county seat runs on a weekday calendar — and on two bridges most operators only use one of.
Why San Rafael chooses Irydn
San Rafael is the county seat of Marin and its commercial centre, and the business it generates is what puts us here most often. The Marin County Civic Center and the downtown corridor between it and the freeway account for the bulk of our weekday pickups south of Petaluma: client meetings, hospital and campus visitors, and executives heading for an early flight.
San Rafael also sits at an unusual junction — US-101 running north and south, I-580 running east across the Richmond–San Rafael Bridge — which gives the city two genuinely different routes out and makes the East Bay and Oakland closer than the map feels. Irydn covers San Rafael and the 94901 area from its Petaluma base with mid-size and large luxury SUVs, executive and passenger Sprinters, and a luxury bus, under California PUC charter-party permit TCP 0039081A. Dispatch is staffed around the clock.
Our FleetLuxury SUVs to 24-Passenger Buses
From a Mid-Size Luxury SUV for a solo SFO run to a Luxury Bus carrying 24 for a wedding block or a corporate offsite, Irydn matches every San Rafael trip to the right vehicle — each one late-model, commercially insured, and driven by a background-checked professional chauffeur under California PUC permit TCP 0039081A.

The workhorse Sprinter: forward-facing bench seating for up to fourteen with luggage space behind. Built for moving a whole team in one vehicle — conference shuttles, wedding-guest runs, and group airport blocks.

Fast Facts
Typical drive time from San Rafael
Estimates reflect off-peak conditions via US-101 and I-580. Bay Area bridge and commute traffic may extend transit time; flight-tracked pickups adjust automatically.
Local pickup coverage
We plan each San Rafael ride around the actual pickup address, not just the city name. For airport transportation, dispatch usually builds around US-101 and I-580 and an off-peak run to San Francisco International (SFO) of about 35–52 minutes. Add gate codes, hotel entrances, winery appointment times, or venue notes when booking so your chauffeur can arrive at the right door the first time.

Why Choose Us
Civic Center and downtown corridor pickups make up most of our weekday Marin volume south of Petaluma.
US-101 south for SFO, I-580 east over the Richmond–San Rafael Bridge for OAK and the East Bay. We route by the hour.
40–58 minutes via I-580 versus 35–52 to SFO. From San Rafael the East Bay airport is a real option, not a fallback.
Priority dispatch, consolidated invoicing, and as-directed hourly service for multi-meeting days across Marin and the city.
A tasting day starting in San Rafael skips the least predictable stretch of the drive — worth an extra appointment.
California PUC charter-party permit TCP 0039081A, commercial insurance, background-checked professional chauffeurs.

Marin's civic and professional life concentrates here, and so does ours. The Civic Center draws legal, county, and consulting traffic all week; the downtown corridor holds the offices, and Kaiser Permanente San Rafael brings a steady stream of visiting clinicians and specialists. Design and technology employers with a Marin presence — Autodesk and BioMarin among them — add executive travel on top of that. What it all means in practice is that our San Rafael calendar is front-loaded toward mornings and evenings: pre-nine arrivals into meetings, and post-five departures toward the airport or home. Hourly as-directed service is the right structure whenever the day involves more than two stops.
This is the part of San Rafael geography worth planning around. Southbound US-101 through central Marin serves SFO and the city, and it is the slower of the two options at commute hours. Eastbound I-580 over the Richmond–San Rafael Bridge opens the East Bay — Oakland, Berkeley, the I-80 corridor toward Sacramento — without touching the Golden Gate at all, which is why OAK is only marginally farther from here than SFO. When a client asks which airport to book, that fact usually decides it. We will route by whichever crossing suits the hour, and we tell you which one we are taking rather than surprising you at the interchange.
SFO is roughly 35–52 minutes off-peak and takes most of the volume. OAK is 40–58 across the Richmond–San Rafael Bridge and I-580. STS in Sonoma County is 45–60 straight up US-101 and is the sensible option for regional connections or guests continuing into wine country. All three ranges are off-peak figures, and San Rafael's weekday morning southbound stretch is exactly the sort of thing those ranges do not capture — so early departures get a deliberately conservative pickup time. Flight tracking comes standard, transfers are flat-rate with tolls and standard wait time included, and a delayed arrival simply moves the pickup.
Heading north from San Rafael, the freeway does the work. Petaluma is the first wine-country town of consequence, Santa Rosa and the Russian River sit past it, and Healdsburg's Dry Creek and Alexander Valley appellations anchor the far end of a full day. East across SR-37, the Sonoma Valley and the city of Napa open up. Because San Rafael is north of the Golden Gate already, a tasting day starting here avoids the single most unpredictable stretch of a trip out of the city — which usually buys a group either a later start or an extra appointment, whichever they would rather have.
Not everything here is business travel. Downtown San Rafael carries the county's densest run of restaurants and evening venues, and China Camp State Park draws weekend and event traffic out on the bay side. A chauffeured vehicle for an evening solves the same problem a tasting day does: nobody in the party has to volunteer to stay dry, and nobody is negotiating with surge pricing at eleven at night. Point-to-point evening trips are flat-rate; if the night has several stops in it, hourly service keeps the same vehicle and chauffeur with you between them instead of re-booking each leg.
Approximate off-peak times from downtown San Rafael or the Civic Center. Weekday commute traffic adds to the southbound US-101 figure in particular, which is why early departures get an earlier pickup than the range alone implies.
| Airport | Approx. off-peak drive | Route and typical use |
|---|---|---|
| San Francisco International (SFO) | 35–52 minutes | US-101 south — most corporate and long-haul departures |
| Oakland International (OAK) | 40–58 minutes | I-580 over the Richmond–San Rafael Bridge — avoids central Marin and the city |
| Charles M. Schulz–Sonoma County (STS) | 45–60 minutes | US-101 north — regional connections and wine-country guests |

From every San Rafael address to SFO, OAK, SMF, and STS — and every Marin County destination in between — we deliver chauffeured transport built on a licensed fleet, career chauffeurs, and flat-rate quotes given before you book.
Irydn operates under California PUC permit TCP 0039081A — a credential you can look up on the CPUC carrier register before you book. Commercially insured, with every vehicle and chauffeur covered for passenger transport. Ask any San Rafael operator for their TCP number; the ones who can't produce it aren't licensed to carry you.
A mid-size luxury SUV for couples and solo executives, a large luxury SUV when there's real luggage, an executive Sprinter with captain's chairs for tasting days, a Sprinter passenger van for full teams, and a luxury bus for wedding blocks and offsites. One company, one call — no subcontracting the vehicle you actually booked.
Career chauffeurs, not rideshare drivers. Every one is background-checked, licensed, and trained in hospitality and San Rafael routes — which winery gates take an extra ten minutes, which hotel entrance the vehicle actually fits. The standard is identical no matter which Irydn vehicle pulls up.
Airport and point-to-point transfers are flat-rate and quoted before you book — tolls, fuel, and standard wait time included. No surge, no meter, no bridge-traffic surcharge. Wine tours are hourly with a daily minimum, because a tasting day isn't a transfer and a fixed price would either shortchange the day or pad the quote.
Every SFO, OAK, SMF, and STS pickup is flight-tracked in real time, so your chauffeur is curbside whether you land early, late, or diverted. Dispatch answers the phone around the clock at (415) 237-0073 — dawn departures, red-eye arrivals, and overnight runs included.
Smoke-free, late-model, commercially insured vehicles backed by corporate account management, consolidated billing, and the discretion executive and group clients expect. One invoice, one point of contact, every ride documented.
San Rafael is Marin's county seat and its business center — the Civic Center and the downtown corridor account for most of our weekday corporate pickups south of Petaluma.
Step-by-step
A six-step walkthrough of the booking flow, from entering your San Rafael pickup address to confirming a flat-rate quote with live flight tracking — or building a wine-country itinerary instead.
Start at /reservation/ and enter the full San Rafael address — residential, corporate campus, hotel, inn, or winery. Gated-property access codes and specific entrance notes can be added to the booking notes. We pick up regularly near Marin County Civic Center, Downtown San Rafael, China Camp State Park.
Northern California is a multi-airport market, so pick the airport that actually fits your itinerary. From San Rafael the usual choice is San Francisco International (SFO), typically about 35–52 minutes off-peak via US-101 and I-580. Building a tasting day instead? Enter your first winery and we'll route the rest.
Pick the vehicle that fits the group: a mid-size luxury SUV (up to 4), a large luxury SUV (up to 6), an executive Sprinter van with captain's chairs (up to 11), a Sprinter passenger van (up to 14), or a luxury bus (up to 24). Every vehicle is late-model, commercially insured, and operated by a background-checked professional chauffeur under California PUC permit TCP 0039081A.
Curbside airport pickup is standard and included in your flat-rate San Rafael quote. Meet & Greet inside baggage claim with a name placard and luggage assistance is an optional add-on — worth it for long-haul arrivals into SFO or OAK. Wine tours can include cooler storage and glassware on request.
Your San Rafael rate is quoted upfront — flat-rate and all-inclusive for transfers, hourly with a daily minimum for tours. No surge, no metered fares, no hidden fees. Tolls, fuel, and standard wait time are built in. Corporate accounts are active with Kaiser Permanente San Rafael, Autodesk, BioMarin and other Marin County employers.
Complete your San Rafael booking online in minutes or call our 24/7 dispatch line. You'll get an instant email confirmation with trip details, and your chauffeur's contact info the day of the trip. Real-time flight tracking is standard on every airport booking — pickup auto-adjusts for early arrivals and delays.
