Why Petaluma chooses Irydn

Petaluma is Irydn's home base, and that is a logistical fact before it is a marketing one: the vehicles stage here, dispatch sits here, and the first run of the morning usually begins within a few minutes of where the fleet parked overnight. The city occupies the point where US-101 crosses into Sonoma County — about 45 to 60 minutes off-peak from SFO, 50 to 70 from OAK, and only 20 to 28 up the freeway to STS — which is why so many wine-country days either start or finish with a Petaluma address.

We hold California PUC charter-party carrier permit TCP 0039081A and run mid-size and large luxury SUVs, an executive Sprinter with captain's chairs, a fourteen-seat passenger van, and a luxury bus. Petaluma residents book us for the dawn run to SFO; visitors book us because a tasting day launched from Petaluma is already north of the bridge.

Local pickup coverage

Popular Petaluma pickup points for car service

We plan each Petaluma ride around the actual pickup address, not just the city name. For airport transportation, dispatch usually builds around US-101 and an off-peak run to San Francisco International (SFO) of about 45–60 minutes. Add gate codes, hotel entrances, winery appointment times, or venue notes when booking so your chauffeur can arrive at the right door the first time.

Why Choose Us

Northern California's Licensed Black Car & Wine Tour Service

This is where the fleet parks

Petaluma is our operating base, not a service area on a list. Short positioning runs, and dispatch that knows the town.

20–28 minutes to STS

Charles M. Schulz–Sonoma County is the closest airport to Petaluma by a wide margin, and often the smartest connection.

Flat-rate airport transfers

SFO, OAK, STS, and SMF quoted upfront with tolls and standard wait time included. No surge at 5am, no meter.

Petaluma Gap tastings

Adobe Road, Keller Estate, and McEvoy Ranch are minutes from downtown — cool-climate wines most visitors never reach.

CPUC TCP 0039081A

A licensed California charter-party carrier, commercially insured, with background-checked professional chauffeurs.

Barn and ranch venue access

We check the driveway before the wedding, so the vehicle that arrives is one that can actually turn around in it.

The mid-size luxury SUV is the standard vehicle on Petaluma airport runs for one to four passengers.

Why the yard is in Petaluma and not somewhere flashier

Every chauffeur company pays for the miles before the pickup as well as the miles after it. Basing in Petaluma keeps that number small across the widest possible footprint: the Golden Gate is a straight run south on US-101, Lakeville Highway (SR-116) heads east out of town toward the Sonoma Valley and the Carneros gap into Napa, and Healdsburg is forty minutes north on the same freeway. No other address in the county reaches the Bay Area, both wine regions, and the coast without one of the three becoming a long haul. That is the practical reason we are here, and the reason a Petaluma booking rarely carries the positioning time an operator based in San Francisco or Sacramento has to build into a quote.

Airport transfers from Petaluma

Four airports are in play from a Petaluma pickup, and the right one is not always the obvious one. SFO carries the long-haul schedules and runs 45 to 60 minutes off-peak, though a 7am departure means leaving before the southbound US-101 commute stacks up through Marin. OAK is 50 to 70 minutes and frequently the calmer drive. STS, at 20 to 28 minutes, is close enough that a same-day connection through Seattle or Denver can beat driving to the Bay. SMF is a 90 to 110 minute run east and is worth it mainly when the fare or the schedule justifies it. Every airport booking is flight-tracked, so a delayed arrival moves your pickup automatically instead of costing you a wait-time argument, and every transfer is flat-rate — quoted before you book, with tolls and standard wait time already inside the number.

The Petaluma Gap, and the wineries visitors drive past

Most people arrive in Sonoma County intending to taste somewhere else. The Petaluma Gap is the wind corridor that runs off the coast through the hills west of town, and the cool-climate Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Syrah grown in it are genuinely different from what the valley floor produces twenty minutes east. Adobe Road Winery, Keller Estate, and McEvoy Ranch are all a short drive from downtown Petaluma, and a half-day here pairs neatly with an afternoon that ends in the Sonoma Valley. If you would rather commit the whole day to Napa or Healdsburg, our private wine tours run hourly with a daily minimum and start from your Petaluma door rather than a meeting point.

Weekday work along the 101 corridor

Petaluma is the closest thing Sonoma County has to a commuter town, and the weekday calendar reflects it. We run standing airport blocks and client pickups for Amy's Kitchen, Enphase Energy, and Petaluma Health Center staff and visitors, plus a steady volume of executives coming north from San Francisco for a morning meeting and flying out of SFO the same evening. Corporate accounts get priority dispatch, consolidated monthly invoicing with trip-level detail, and the insurance and CPUC permit documentation procurement teams ask for before approving a ground vendor. Historic Downtown Petaluma, Lagunitas Brewing Company, and Petaluma Village Premium Outlets account for most of the evening and weekend group work — dinners on Petaluma Boulevard, brewery nights, and shopping runs that end with people who should not be driving.

Groups, weddings, and the barn-venue problem

Petaluma's agricultural past left it with a lot of working ranches and converted barns, and those make beautiful wedding venues with awful driveways. Ask us about the access road before you book the vehicle: a luxury bus that seats twenty-four cannot turn around in a gravel loop that a Sprinter handles fine, and finding that out at 4pm on the day is nobody's idea of a good time. We will scout it. For a wedding weekend, the usual shape is the executive Sprinter for the couple and the party, the passenger van or the bus running guest loops from the hotels along US-101, and a late block for the departures. Wedding transportation is quoted as a package rather than a stack of separate trips.

Off-peak drive times from Petaluma to the airports we serve

Approximate off-peak driving times from a downtown Petaluma pickup. Bay Area commute traffic on US-101 can add meaningfully to the SFO and OAK figures; we build departure times backward from your flight rather than from these numbers.

The right structure any time you have more than two stops: a multi-stop Petaluma business day, a tasting itinerary, a wedding-day schedule, or an evening out. Why Choose Us

Why Petaluma Chooses Irydn

From every Petaluma address to SFO, OAK, SMF, and STS — and every Sonoma County destination in between — we deliver chauffeured transport built on a licensed fleet, career chauffeurs, and flat-rate quotes given before you book.

  • Licensed California Charter-Party Carrier

Irydn operates under California PUC permit TCP 0039081A — a credential you can look up on the CPUC carrier register before you book. Commercially insured, with every vehicle and chauffeur covered for passenger transport. Ask any Petaluma operator for their TCP number; the ones who can't produce it aren't licensed to carry you.

  • Five Vehicle Classes, Four to Twenty-Four Passengers

A mid-size luxury SUV for couples and solo executives, a large luxury SUV when there's real luggage, an executive Sprinter with captain's chairs for tasting days, a Sprinter passenger van for full teams, and a luxury bus for wedding blocks and offsites. One company, one call — no subcontracting the vehicle you actually booked.

  • Background-Checked Professional Chauffeurs

Career chauffeurs, not rideshare drivers. Every one is background-checked, licensed, and trained in hospitality and Petaluma routes — which winery gates take an extra ten minutes, which hotel entrance the vehicle actually fits. The standard is identical no matter which Irydn vehicle pulls up.

  • Flat-Rate Transfers, Quoted Upfront

Airport and point-to-point transfers are flat-rate and quoted before you book — tolls, fuel, and standard wait time included. No surge, no meter, no bridge-traffic surcharge. Wine tours are hourly with a daily minimum, because a tasting day isn't a transfer and a fixed price would either shortchange the day or pad the quote.

  • Flight Tracking + 24/7 Live Dispatch

Every SFO, OAK, SMF, and STS pickup is flight-tracked in real time, so your chauffeur is curbside whether you land early, late, or diverted. Dispatch answers the phone around the clock at (415) 237-0073 — dawn departures, red-eye arrivals, and overnight runs included.

  • Corporate Accounts & Consolidated Billing

Smoke-free, late-model, commercially insured vehicles backed by corporate account management, consolidated billing, and the discretion executive and group clients expect. One invoice, one point of contact, every ride documented.

  • Petaluma & Historic Downtown Petaluma

Petaluma is our home base — it sits right where US-101 crosses into Sonoma County, which is why so many wine-country days start with a pickup here before the vineyards open.

Step-by-step

How to book Petaluma car service to San Francisco International (SFO) airport

A six-step walkthrough of the booking flow, from entering your Petaluma pickup address to confirming a flat-rate quote with live flight tracking — or building a wine-country itinerary instead.

  1. 1

    Enter your Petaluma pickup address

Start at /reservation/ and enter the full Petaluma address — residential, corporate campus, hotel, inn, or winery. Gated-property access codes and specific entrance notes can be added to the booking notes. We pick up regularly near Historic Downtown Petaluma, Petaluma Village Premium Outlets, Lagunitas Brewing Company.

  2. 2

Choose your destination and travel date

Northern California is a multi-airport market, so pick the airport that actually fits your itinerary. From Petaluma the usual choice is San Francisco International (SFO), typically about 45–60 minutes off-peak via US-101. Building a tasting day instead? Enter your first winery and we'll route the rest.

  3. 3

Choose your vehicle and confirm party size

Pick the vehicle that fits the group: a mid-size luxury SUV (up to 4), a large luxury SUV (up to 6), an executive Sprinter van with captain's chairs (up to 11), a Sprinter passenger van (up to 14), or a luxury bus (up to 24). Add Meet & Greet or a tasting itinerary

Curbside airport pickup is standard and included in your flat-rate Petaluma quote. Meet & Greet inside baggage claim with a name placard and luggage assistance is an optional add-on — worth it for long-haul arrivals into SFO or OAK. Wine tours can include cooler storage and glassware on request. For tasting days, Adobe Road Winery, Keller Estate, McEvoy Ranch are all on our regular Petaluma rotation — send us the list and we'll sequence it.

    Review your flat-rate quote

Your Petaluma rate is quoted upfront — flat-rate and all-inclusive for transfers, hourly with a daily minimum for tours. No surge, no metered fares, no hidden fees. Tolls, fuel, and standard wait time are built in. Corporate accounts are active with Amy's Kitchen, Petaluma Health Center, Enphase Energy and other Sonoma County employers.
