What being based in Yountville actually changes

Domaine Chandon sits at the edge of town and is the rare Napa appointment reachable in under five minutes from a Yountville hotel, which makes it the natural first stop before the valley wakes up. Goosecross Cellars is a short run east of the highway, and Cliff Lede Vineyards is over on the Silverado Trail side in Stags Leap — close in miles, and a very different afternoon from heading north up SR-29. Yountville's walkability is wonderful on foot and awkward for a coach.
