Why San Francisco chooses Irydn

Irydn works San Francisco every day from bases in Petaluma, Yountville, and Sacramento, running the US-101 corridor in and back out. We do not keep a San Francisco garage, and we would rather say so than pretend otherwise — what we keep is a schedule built around the bridge. That distinction matters because the booking San Francisco sends us more than any other is the wine-country day trip: a hotel lobby downtown, then straight over the Golden Gate to a first appointment in Napa or Sonoma, and the bridge is what decides when we have to be at the curb.

The rest of the San Francisco calendar is business — client runs in the Financial District, conference blocks around Moscone Center, and flight-tracked transfers to SFO and OAK. Every trip runs in a mid-size or large luxury SUV, an executive Sprinter, or a larger van or bus, under California PUC charter-party permit TCP 0039081A. Our dispatch number is a 415 number and it answers around the clock.

Local pickup coverage

Popular San Francisco pickup points for car service

We plan each San Francisco ride around the actual pickup address, not just the city name. For airport transportation, dispatch usually builds around US-101 and I-80 and an off-peak run to San Francisco International (SFO) of about 25–45 minutes. Add gate codes, hotel entrances, winery appointment times, or venue notes when booking so your chauffeur can arrive at the right door the first time.

Why Choose Us

Northern California's Licensed Black Car & Wine Tour Service

Pickup times set by the bridge

We work backward from your first appointment. An eight o'clock departure and a nine-thirty departure are not the same drive, and we plan for that.

Downtown hotel lobbies, not a curb hunt

Your chauffeur arrives early and will meet you inside. Group pickups get a specific driveway or corner agreed when you book.

Wine country the same morning

Napa, Sonoma, and Healdsburg are all a single day trip from the city — one of our most-requested bookings out of San Francisco.

Flight-tracked SFO and OAK transfers

Roughly 25–45 minutes to SFO off-peak and 30–50 to OAK. Delays move your pickup automatically; flat rates do not move at all.

Conference and roadshow capacity

Moscone weeks, Financial District multi-stop days, and airport blocks coordinated on one schedule with a single point of contact.

Licensed charter-party carrier

California PUC permit TCP 0039081A, commercially insured, background-checked chauffeurs. Ask any operator for their TCP number.

Irydn chauffeur opening the rear door of a black luxury SUV for a client — San Francisco downtown hotel pickup and wine country car service
Downtown hotel pickups: your chauffeur is at the curb early, and inside the lobby if that is easier.

The Golden Gate sets the departure time, not the map

Every northbound trip out of the city starts the same way — through town onto US-101 and across the bridge — and the approach, not the distance, is the variable. Leaving a downtown hotel at eight is a genuinely different drive than leaving at nine thirty, which is why we work backward from your first appointment instead of forward from a mileage estimate. Tell us the tasting is at ten thirty in the Napa Valley and we will name a curb time; it is usually earlier than guests expect, and it is the difference between arriving unhurried and arriving apologising. The same logic applies coming home in the other direction, so on a full tasting day we would rather have you finishing your last pour at four than at six.

Downtown hotel pickups, staged in advance

Most days begin in a lobby around Union Square or in the blocks between there and the Embarcadero. Your chauffeur is there ahead of the booked time and will come inside if that is easier than watching the street for a vehicle. Worth knowing for groups: an executive Sprinter cannot sit on a narrow downtown block the way an SUV can, so for anything larger than a full-size SUV we agree a specific hotel driveway or corner when the booking is made rather than improvising at seven in the morning. Luggage, cases, and tasting-day coolers are loaded before you are asked to get in. If you are meeting people from more than one hotel, we sequence the stops so the last party boarded is not the one waiting longest.

Financial District client runs and Moscone weeks

Corporate ground work here is unusually concentrated: the Financial District, Union Square, and Moscone Center sit close enough together that a multi-meeting day is really a scheduling problem rather than a driving one, and hourly as-directed service is almost always the right structure for it. Conference weeks follow a shape we know well — inbound arrivals spread across an afternoon from SFO and OAK, hotel-to-venue shuttling once the show opens, client dinners in the evening, and a tasting afternoon north of the bridge for the leadership group before they fly home. San Francisco corporate accounts get priority dispatch and consolidated monthly invoicing, which matters most in exactly those weeks when capacity across the Bay Area tightens.

SFO, OAK, and the two airports nobody thinks of

SFO is roughly 25–45 minutes from downtown off-peak and handles the overwhelming majority of what we run out of the city. OAK is 30–50 and is occasionally the faster call depending on the hour and where in San Francisco you start. The two worth knowing about: STS — Charles M. Schulz–Sonoma County — is about 70–90 minutes north and puts a guest inside wine country rather than at the bottom of it, and SMF is 95–120 for anyone connecting toward Sacramento. Flight tracking is standard on every airport booking, so a delayed inbound moves your pickup automatically instead of costing you a no-show. Transfers are flat-rate, quoted before you book, with tolls and standard wait time already inside the number.

Which vehicle, and how the day is quoted

Two or four people touring for the day take the mid-size luxury SUV; six with luggage or case room take the large SUV. Above that the executive Sprinter — captain's chairs, stand-up cabin, eleven seats — is what most San Francisco groups end up in, and it is the one that makes a bridge crossing and an hour of highway feel like part of the day. The Sprinter passenger van seats fourteen and the luxury bus twenty-four for conference blocks and wedding-guest runs. Point-to-point and airport trips are flat-rate. Tasting days and multi-stop city days are hourly with a daily minimum, because appointments run long and a fixed price would either shortchange you or pad the quote. No surge, no hidden fees.

Off-peak driving times from downtown San Francisco to wine country

Approximate off-peak times from a downtown hotel. Every one of these begins with the same variable — the Golden Gate — which is why we set the curb time around the bridge rather than the mileage. Commute hours add meaningfully to all of them.

Why Choose Us

Why San Francisco Chooses Irydn

From every San Francisco address to SFO, OAK, SMF, and STS — and every San Francisco destination in between — we deliver chauffeured transport built on a licensed fleet, career chauffeurs, and flat-rate quotes given before you book.

  • Licensed California Charter-Party Carrier

Irydn operates under California PUC permit TCP 0039081A — a credential you can look up on the CPUC carrier register before you book. Commercially insured, with every vehicle and chauffeur covered for passenger transport. Ask any San Francisco operator for their TCP number; the ones who can't produce it aren't licensed to carry you.

  • Five Vehicle Classes, Four to Twenty-Four Passengers

A mid-size luxury SUV for couples and solo executives, a large luxury SUV when there's real luggage, an executive Sprinter with captain's chairs for tasting days, a Sprinter passenger van for full teams, and a luxury bus for wedding blocks and offsites. One company, one call — no subcontracting the vehicle you actually booked.

  • Background-Checked Professional Chauffeurs

Career chauffeurs, not rideshare drivers. Every one is background-checked, licensed, and trained in hospitality and San Francisco routes — which winery gates take an extra ten minutes, which hotel entrance the vehicle actually fits. The standard is identical no matter which Irydn vehicle pulls up.

  • Flat-Rate Transfers, Quoted Upfront

Airport and point-to-point transfers are flat-rate and quoted before you book — tolls, fuel, and standard wait time included. No surge, no meter, no bridge-traffic surcharge. Wine tours are hourly with a daily minimum, because a tasting day isn't a transfer and a fixed price would either shortchange the day or pad the quote.

  • Flight Tracking + 24/7 Live Dispatch

Every SFO, OAK, SMF, and STS pickup is flight-tracked in real time, so your chauffeur is curbside whether you land early, late, or diverted. Dispatch answers the phone around the clock at (415) 237-0073 — dawn departures, red-eye arrivals, and overnight runs included.

  • Corporate Accounts & Consolidated Billing

Smoke-free, late-model, commercially insured vehicles backed by corporate account management, consolidated billing, and the discretion executive and group clients expect. One invoice, one point of contact, every ride documented.

  • San Francisco & Union Square

Most of our wine-country days that start in San Francisco are hotel pickups downtown, then straight over the Golden Gate — the bridge, not the distance, is what decides the morning departure time.

Step-by-step

How to book San Francisco car service to San Francisco International (SFO) airport

A six-step walkthrough of the booking flow, from entering your San Francisco pickup address to confirming a flat-rate quote with live flight tracking — or building a wine-country itinerary instead.

  1. 1

Enter your San Francisco pickup address

Start at /reservation/ and enter the full San Francisco address — residential, corporate campus, hotel, inn, or winery. Gated-property access codes and specific entrance notes can be added to the booking notes. We pick up regularly near Union Square, the Financial District, Moscone Center.

  2. 2

Choose your destination and travel date

Northern California is a multi-airport market, so pick the airport that actually fits your itinerary. From San Francisco the usual choice is San Francisco International (SFO), typically about 25–45 minutes off-peak via US-101 and I-80. Building a tasting day instead? Enter your first winery and we'll route the rest.

  3. 3

Choose your vehicle and confirm party size

Pick the vehicle that fits the group: a mid-size luxury SUV (up to 4), a large luxury SUV (up to 6), an executive Sprinter van with captain's chairs (up to 11), a Sprinter passenger van (up to 14), or a luxury bus (up to 24). Every vehicle is late-model, commercially insured, and operated by a background-checked professional chauffeur under California PUC permit TCP 0039081A.

Add Meet & Greet or a tasting itinerary

Curbside airport pickup is standard and included in your flat-rate San Francisco quote. Meet & Greet inside baggage claim with a name placard and luggage assistance is an optional add-on — worth it for long-haul arrivals into SFO or OAK. Wine tours can include cooler storage and glassware on request.

    Review your flat-rate quote

Your San Francisco rate is quoted upfront — flat-rate and all-inclusive for transfers, hourly with a daily minimum for tours. No surge, no metered fares, no hidden fees. Tolls, fuel, and standard wait time are built in. Corporate accounts are active with Salesforce, Wells Fargo, UCSF and other San Francisco employers.
