Where the flat part of Marin ends — the one town in the county whose interesting roads go up rather than north.
Why Mill Valley chooses Irydn
Mill Valley meets the freeway at US-101 and SR-1, and that junction is most of the town's character: north of it Marin is flat and freeway-shaped, west of it the road immediately starts climbing. Mount Tamalpais State Park and Muir Woods National Monument both sit above Mill Valley on roads that switchback rather than run straight, and that single geographic fact makes the bookings we take here look unlike anything else in the county. A good share of them are people who want to get up onto the mountain without spending the day thinking about a parking space. The rest is ordinary southern Marin work — flight-tracked runs to SFO, evenings around Lytton Square, and groups heading north for a tasting day.
Irydn covers Mill Valley and the 94941 area from its Petaluma base, straight down US-101, in mid-size and large luxury SUVs, a luxury Sprinter van with captain's chairs, a fourteen-seat Sprinter passenger van, and a twenty-four-seat luxury bus. We hold California PUC charter-party permit TCP 0039081A, carry commercial insurance, and employ background-checked chauffeurs. Dispatch answers on (415) 237-0073 around the clock, which counts for more here than it sounds like it should — the roads above town are not where anyone wants to be improvising a way home after dark. What we do not keep is a Mill Valley yard, and we would rather state that plainly than let a phone number imply one. What we do keep is a schedule that treats the climb as part of the trip instead of an afterthought bolted onto the end of it.
Our FleetLuxury SUVs to 24-Passenger Buses

Typical drive time from Mill Valley
Estimates reflect off-peak conditions via US-101 at SR-1. Bay Area bridge and commute traffic may extend transit time; flight-tracked pickups adjust automatically.
Local pickup coverage
We plan each Mill Valley ride around the actual pickup address, not just the city name. For airport transportation, dispatch usually builds around US-101 at SR-1 and an off-peak run to San Francisco International (SFO) of about 30–45 minutes. Add gate codes, hotel entrances, winery appointment times, or venue notes when booking so your chauffeur can arrive at the right door the first time.

Why Choose Us
Muir Woods reservations cover parking spaces and shuttle seats. A guest who is dropped at the entrance is not competing for either.
Phone coverage in the canyon is unreliable, so the pickup is set at the drop rather than coordinated later by text.
The climb above Mill Valley is not the freeway. Nobody in your party has to take it twice while everyone else looks at the view.
A show at Sweetwater Music Hall or dinner at Lytton Square ends with a vehicle already in position, at a point agreed when you booked.
OAK is 35–52 and STS 55–70 for wine-country connections. Flight tracking moves the pickup; the flat rate does not move.
A licensed California charter-party carrier, commercially insured, with background-checked professional chauffeurs.

Almost everything worth knowing about driving in Mill Valley follows from elevation. The valley floor around Lytton Square is compact, walkable, and served by a handful of streets that were never widened for the traffic a weekend brings. Above it, the roads narrow, tighten, and start turning back on themselves as they work up toward the ridge, and SR-1 peels off US-101 to carry the traffic heading over toward the ocean side. That means two very different driving problems inside one small town. Down on the flat, the constraint is where a vehicle can legally and safely stop. Up on the mountain, the constraint is the road itself — its width, its blind curves, and the fog that can close over the upper stretches in minutes on a summer afternoon while the valley below stays clear. We plan a Mill Valley booking as two segments rather than one average, because pretending the climb drives like the freeway is how a schedule goes wrong.
Here is the practical thing nobody explains before you arrive: Muir Woods National Monument runs on advance reservations, and those reservations govern parking spaces and shuttle seats. If you drive yourself and have not booked one, you are not getting in — the lots are not first-come, and the road has nowhere to wait. A chauffeured trip sidesteps the mechanism entirely, because a guest who is set down at the entrance is not competing for a parking space or a shuttle seat in the first place. That is the single most useful thing we do in Mill Valley, and it costs nothing extra to arrange. Two honest caveats. Admission to the monument itself is a National Park Service charge and it is yours to pay at the gate — we do not collect it and we do not mark it up, exactly as we handle tasting fees in wine country. And you should still check the monument's own current access rules for your date, because they are set by the Park Service and they change.
The road up to Muir Woods is narrow enough that a vehicle cannot simply idle at the entrance for two hours waiting on a party, so we do not pretend otherwise. What we do instead is agree a collection time when you book. Your chauffeur sets you down, repositions somewhere the vehicle is not obstructing a single-lane road, and is back at the agreed point before you finish walking out. If the party wants longer among the redwoods, you tell us at the drop rather than discovering there is no signal to call from — coverage in the canyon is unreliable, which is why the time is agreed in advance instead of coordinated by phone. Groups that want the mountain and the monument in the same outing usually do Muir Woods first, when the light through the canopy is better and the road is quieter, and take Mount Tamalpais afterward. We will sequence it either way, but that is the order we would suggest.
The climb toward Mount Tamalpais State Park is switchback after switchback, and Panoramic Highway above Mill Valley is a road that punishes a driver who is looking at the view rather than the apex of the next corner. Passengers enjoy it enormously. The person at the wheel usually does not, and on the way back down they get to do the whole thing again while everyone else talks about the ocean. That is the argument for a chauffeur here in one sentence. It also matters which vehicle goes up: the mid-size and large luxury SUVs are the natural choice, the luxury Sprinter van handles the road competently with a chauffeur who has driven it before, and for a party larger than that we would rather run two vehicles than take the twenty-four-seat bus onto a road it has no business being on. We will tell you that when you ask, which is not the same as telling you what you hoped to hear.
Downtown Mill Valley keeps a real evening calendar for a town this size, and Sweetwater Music Hall is most of the reason — a small room where a show finishing late puts a few hundred people onto streets that have nowhere near that many parking spaces. Dinner around Lytton Square has the same shape on a Friday. A pre-booked pickup solves the end of the night rather than the start of it: your chauffeur is in position when the room empties, at a point we agreed when you booked, instead of you standing on Throckmorton with a phone trying to summon a car that is quoting a late-night multiplier. If the evening has several stops in it — drinks, a table, then the show — hourly as-directed service keeps the same vehicle and the same chauffeur with you between them instead of re-booking each leg and hoping.
SFO runs about 30–45 minutes off-peak and takes nearly all of the airport volume here. OAK is 35–52, and Charles M. Schulz–Sonoma County sits 55–70 minutes north for anyone connecting toward the vineyards. Those are off-peak figures; southbound US-101 on a weekday morning is not off-peak, so early departures get a deliberately conservative pickup time rather than one set against the middle of a range. Flight tracking is standard on every airport booking, so a delayed inbound moves the pickup without a call from you. Going the other way, the freeway north from Mill Valley reaches Petaluma, the Sonoma Valley, and the Napa Valley comfortably inside a day. Airport and point-to-point trips are flat-rate and quoted upfront, with tolls, fuel, and standard wait time already inside the number. Mountain outings, tasting days, and anything as-directed are hourly with a daily minimum, because a walk among the redwoods does not run to a stopwatch.
Mill Valley is unusual in that the obstacle at most of its destinations is not the drive but the arrival. Here is what stops being your problem at each of them.
| Destination | What changes when you are not the one parking |
|---|---|
| Muir Woods National Monument | Advance reservations govern parking spaces and shuttle seats. A guest set down at the entrance is competing for neither. Park Service admission is still yours to pay at the gate. |
| Mount Tamalpais State Park | The switchbacks above town are a genuinely different drive from the freeway. Nobody in the party has to take them twice while everyone else looks at the view. |
| Downtown Mill Valley and Lytton Square | Street space, not distance, is the constraint on a busy evening. You are set down at an agreed point and collected from the same one. |
| Sweetwater Music Hall | A late finish stops being a parking problem shared with everyone else leaving the room. Your chauffeur is already in position when the show ends. |
| SR-1 toward the coast | A narrow, slow, spectacular road driven by someone who has driven it before — in clear weather and in the fog that arrives without much warning. |
| SFO, OAK, or STS | Flight tracking moves the pickup when the arrival moves. The flat rate quoted upfront does not move at all. |
Private Napa and Sonoma wine tours, flat-rate SFO, OAK, SMF, and STS airport transfers, corporate and executive black car service, wedding and event group transportation, hourly as-directed days, and point-to-point rides — chauffeured across Mill Valley, Southern Marin, and the corridors between them.

Mid-size and large luxury SUVs for two to six, the executive Sprinter with captain's chairs for up to eleven, and vans and buses beyond that. Room for the cases you buy along the way. Hourly with a daily minimum; tasting fees go straight to the wineries and are never marked up by us.

Corporate accounts get priority dispatch during the windows that genuinely tighten — harvest season, conference weeks, dawn airport departures — plus consolidated monthly invoicing with trip-level detail instead of a pile of receipts. One operator across wine country, the Bay Area, and the capital region. Licensed under California PUC charter-party permit TCP 0039081A.
Get a Quote for Corporate & Executive Black CarGroup movements across Southern Marin — weddings, offsites, and event shuttles.
The executive Sprinter seats up to eleven, the Sprinter passenger van up to fourteen, and the luxury bus up to twenty-four — most wedding weekends and corporate offsites end up as a mix of all three. We handle the whole shape of it: airport blocks arriving across an afternoon from four different airports, hotel-to-venue shuttle loops, a tasting afternoon in the middle of the agenda, and departure runs at the end. One schedule, one point of contact, one invoice.
Get a Quote for Weddings, Events & Group TransportationBy the hour, with your chauffeur and vehicle waiting between stops.
The right structure any time you have more than two stops: a multi-stop Mill Valley business day, a tasting itinerary, a wedding-day schedule, or an evening out. The vehicle and chauffeur stay with you rather than being dispatched away and re-booked, so a meeting running twenty minutes long does not turn into a wait for a car. Billed hourly with a daily minimum, quoted upfront — no surge multipliers, in whichever vehicle class fits your party.

A single leg, quoted flat-rate before you book: a hotel run into San Francisco, dinner in Healdsburg, a Golden 1 Center event in Sacramento, or one of the long connector trips other operators decline — Sacramento to Napa through the Carneros gap, San Francisco to the northern Sonoma appellations. Tolls, fuel, and standard wait time are already in the number, and it does not change because traffic did.
Get a Quote for Point-to-Point TransportationWhy Choose Us
From every Mill Valley address to SFO, OAK, SMF, and STS — and every Southern Marin destination in between — we deliver chauffeured transport built on a licensed fleet, career chauffeurs, and flat-rate quotes given before you book.
Irydn operates under California PUC permit TCP 0039081A — a credential you can look up on the CPUC carrier register before you book. Commercially insured, with every vehicle and chauffeur covered for passenger transport. Ask any Mill Valley operator for their TCP number; the ones who can't produce it aren't licensed to carry you.
A mid-size luxury SUV for couples and solo executives, a large luxury SUV when there's real luggage, an executive Sprinter with captain's chairs for tasting days, a Sprinter passenger van for full teams, and a luxury bus for wedding blocks and offsites. One company, one call — no subcontracting the vehicle you actually booked.
Career chauffeurs, not rideshare drivers. Every one is background-checked, licensed, and trained in hospitality and Mill Valley routes — which winery gates take an extra ten minutes, which hotel entrance the vehicle actually fits. The standard is identical no matter which Irydn vehicle pulls up.
Airport and point-to-point transfers are flat-rate and quoted before you book — tolls, fuel, and standard wait time included. No surge, no meter, no bridge-traffic surcharge. Wine tours are hourly with a daily minimum, because a tasting day isn't a transfer and a fixed price would either shortchange the day or pad the quote.
Every SFO, OAK, SMF, and STS pickup is flight-tracked in real time, so your chauffeur is curbside whether you land early, late, or diverted. Dispatch answers the phone around the clock at (415) 237-0073 — dawn departures, red-eye arrivals, and overnight runs included.
Smoke-free, late-model, commercially insured vehicles backed by corporate account management, consolidated billing, and the discretion executive and group clients expect. One invoice, one point of contact, every ride documented.
Mill Valley is where the flat part of Marin ends — the roads above town climb Mount Tamalpais in switchbacks, and the Muir Woods shuttle restrictions mean a chauffeured drop is often the only civilised way in.
Step-by-step
A six-step walkthrough of the booking flow, from entering your Mill Valley pickup address to confirming a flat-rate quote with live flight tracking — or building a wine-country itinerary instead.
Start at /reservation/ and enter the full Mill Valley address — residential, corporate campus, hotel, inn, or winery. Gated-property access codes and specific entrance notes can be added to the booking notes. We pick up regularly near Mount Tamalpais State Park, Muir Woods National Monument, Lytton Square.
Northern California is a multi-airport market, so pick the airport that actually fits your itinerary. From Mill Valley the usual choice is San Francisco International (SFO), typically about 30–45 minutes off-peak via US-101 at SR-1. Building a tasting day instead? Enter your first winery and we'll route the rest.
Pick the vehicle that fits the group: a mid-size luxury SUV (up to 4), a large luxury SUV (up to 6), an executive Sprinter van with captain's chairs (up to 11), a Sprinter passenger van (up to 14), or a luxury bus (up to 24). Every vehicle is late-model, commercially insured, and operated by a background-checked professional chauffeur under California PUC permit TCP 0039081A.
Curbside airport pickup is standard and included in your flat-rate Mill Valley quote. Meet & Greet inside baggage claim with a name placard and luggage assistance is an optional add-on — worth it for long-haul arrivals into SFO or OAK. Wine tours can include cooler storage and glassware on request.
Your Mill Valley rate is quoted upfront — flat-rate and all-inclusive for transfers, hourly with a daily minimum for tours. No surge, no metered fares, no hidden fees. Tolls, fuel, and standard wait time are built in. Corporate accounts are active with Sweetwater Music Hall, Mill Valley Chamber of Commerce and other Southern Marin employers.
Complete your Mill Valley booking online in minutes or call our 24/7 dispatch line. You'll get an instant email confirmation with trip details, and your chauffeur's contact info the day of the trip.
