Why Cotati chooses Irydn

Cotati is built around La Plaza Park, one of only two hexagonal town plans in the United States and listed on the National Register of Historic Places — six streets radiating from a six-sided park, laid out that way on purpose and still working that way today. It is a genuinely strange piece of urban geometry, and once you have been picked up there you do not forget where you are. The second fact about Cotati is a highway one: the town sits at the fork where US-101 meets SR-116, which is the point at which a Sonoma County day commits to either the valley or the coast.

That makes it one of the most useful meeting points in the county for a group arriving from different directions, and it is why a fair share of our Cotati bookings are not trips that end here but trips that start here. The town also has a SMART commuter rail platform, sits immediately south of Sonoma State University, and carries ZIP 94931. STS is 18 to 26 minutes north, SFO 52 to 70 south, OAK 58 to 75, and SMF 95 to 115 east. Irydn covers Cotati from its Petaluma base under California PUC charter-party carrier permit TCP 0039081A, with luxury SUVs, a Luxury Sprinter Van, a fourteen-seat Sprinter Passenger Van, and a twenty-four-seat Luxury Bus.

Local pickup coverage

Popular Cotati pickup points for car service

We plan each Cotati ride around the actual pickup address, not just the city name. For airport transportation, dispatch usually builds around US-101 at SR-116 and an off-peak run to San Francisco International (SFO) of about 52–70 minutes. Add gate codes, hotel entrances, winery appointment times, or venue notes when booking so your chauffeur can arrive at the right door the first time.

Why Choose Us

Northern California's Licensed Black Car & Wine Tour Service

One of two hexagonal town plans in the country

La Plaza Park is on the National Register of Historic Places. Six streets, six sides, and one very memorable meeting point.

We name the side of the plaza

A hexagonal ring confuses routing apps. Your confirmation says which street, so the vehicle is standing there rather than circling.

The US-101 and SR-116 fork

The last point where a Sonoma County day can still choose the valley or the coast — which makes it a natural group start.

18–26 to STS, 52–70 to SFO

Close to one airport, dependent on the other. We will talk through which is right for the route you actually need.

Sometimes we will tell you to take SMART

The Cotati station covers straightforward corridor trips well. Airports with luggage, winery gates, and late nights do not.

A hexagon changes how a pickup is arranged

La Plaza Park is a six-sided public square with six streets running off it, and the plan is old enough and unusual enough to have earned a place on the National Register of Historic Places. It is charming. It is also the single most common source of confusion in a Cotati pickup, because a hexagonal ring does not behave like a rectangular block and a routing app happily suggests a side of the park that is a one-way against you. So we do not accept La Plaza Park as an instruction. We ask which side, name the street, and confirm it in your booking, and the vehicle is standing there when you walk out rather than working its way around the ring for the second time. The park itself is small and pleasant, ringed by the sort of independent businesses that a town of this size either keeps or loses, and it is a far better place to wait for a car than a freeway-adjacent hotel lobby. Give us the side and the time, and the geometry stops being your problem.

The fork: where a Sonoma County day picks a side

Cotati is where US-101 and SR-116 meet, and that junction is more consequential than a map suggests. Take the western leg of SR-116, the Gravenstein Highway, and you are heading through Sebastopol toward the Russian River and eventually the Sonoma Coast — cooler, slower, foggier, and a different set of wines entirely. Stay on the freeway south through Petaluma and SR-116 picks up again as Lakeville Highway, running east toward the Sonoma Valley and the Carneros gap into Napa. North on US-101 takes you to Santa Rosa, Windsor, and Healdsburg. That is three genuinely different days branching from one interchange, and the practical use of it is that Cotati is the last comfortable point at which a group can still change its mind. We regularly collect parties here who have come from three directions, load them into one vehicle, and start the actual day from the fork rather than from wherever everyone happened to be sleeping.

Twenty minutes from an airport, and most people fly the other one

This is the tension worth being honest about. Charles M. Schulz–Sonoma County is 18 to 26 minutes from Cotati, which is closer than most people in California live to any airport. And most Cotati travel still goes to SFO, 52 to 70 minutes south, because STS is a small single-terminal operation and being twenty minutes from an airport is only useful if that airport flies where you are going. Check STS first — when the route exists at a workable hour it is a materially better start to a trip — but do not be surprised when the answer comes back San Francisco on schedule breadth or on fare. OAK is 58 to 75 minutes and is sometimes the calmer drive of the two. SMF, at 95 to 115 east, is a real commitment from here. All four transfers are flat-rate and quoted before you book, with tolls and standard wait time inside the number, and every airport booking is flight-tracked so a delay moves the pickup rather than starting a clock against you.

There is a train, and sometimes you should take it

The Cotati SMART station puts the town on the commuter rail line that runs through Sonoma and Marin counties, and it is the rare piece of local infrastructure we will actively recommend over booking us. If you are making a straightforward weekday trip along the corridor and the timetable fits, take the train — it is cheaper, it is often quicker than the freeway at commute hours, and we would rather tell you that than sell you a ride you did not need. What the train does not do is get you to a Bay Area airport with luggage at five in the morning, reach a winery gate at the end of a country road, or bring a group home from dinner. Those are the trips worth booking a vehicle for, and they are what our Cotati calendar is mostly made of. A common pattern is a rail leg in one direction and a chauffeured leg in the other, with the station itself as the handover point.

Old Redwood Highway, Oliver's Market, and an accordion festival

The stretch of Old Redwood Highway through Cotati carries most of the town's daily life, and Oliver's Market is one of its larger employers alongside Sonoma State University immediately to the north. The university is next door rather than in town, but its off-campus population lives here, which puts a steady trickle of airport runs and family visits onto our schedule that have nothing to do with wine. Then there is the Cotati Accordion Festival, which fills La Plaza Park every summer and is exactly as unlikely and as well attended as it sounds. Festival weekend is the one date each year when the streets around the hexagon become genuinely difficult, and the answer is the same one we give for any crowded event: agree the pickup point in advance, put it a block off the ring rather than on it, and let the group walk the short distance rather than have a vehicle try to reach the middle of a closed street.

What Cotati actually books, and in what

Very little of our Cotati work is a tasting day, and that is the useful thing to know about this town. It is airport transfers, first and foremost, flat-rate and flight-tracked in both directions. It is corporate and campus-adjacent travel along the US-101 corridor, where an account brings priority dispatch, consolidated monthly invoicing with trip-level detail, and the insurance and CPUC permit documentation procurement teams ask for. It is group meetups at the fork before a day that happens somewhere else. And it is evenings — dinners, concerts elsewhere in the county, and the trips home from them. One to four passengers ride in a Mid-Size Luxury SUV and up to six in a Large Luxury SUV; the Luxury Sprinter Van seats eleven in captain's chairs, the Sprinter Passenger Van fourteen, and the Luxury Bus twenty-four with a PA system for coordinators. That is the entire fleet, and dispatch answers (415) 237-0073 around the clock.

Which day you are having, depending on which way you leave the Cotati fork

Cotati sits where US-101 meets SR-116, and the direction you take out of town decides the character of the whole day more than the mileage does. This is the conversation we have with most groups that start here.

Why Choose Us

Why Cotati Chooses Irydn

From every Cotati address to SFO, OAK, SMF, and STS — and every Sonoma County destination in between — we deliver chauffeured transport built on a licensed fleet, career chauffeurs, and flat-rate quotes given before you book.

  • Licensed California Charter-Party Carrier

Irydn operates under California PUC permit TCP 0039081A — a credential you can look up on the CPUC carrier register before you book. Commercially insured, with every vehicle and chauffeur covered for passenger transport. Ask any Cotati operator for their TCP number; the ones who can't produce it aren't licensed to carry you.

  • Five Vehicle Classes, Four to Twenty-Four Passengers

A mid-size luxury SUV for couples and solo executives, a large luxury SUV when there's real luggage, an executive Sprinter with captain's chairs for tasting days, a Sprinter passenger van for full teams, and a luxury bus for wedding blocks and offsites. One company, one call — no subcontracting the vehicle you actually booked.

  • Background-Checked Professional Chauffeurs

Career chauffeurs, not rideshare drivers. Every one is background-checked, licensed, and trained in hospitality and Cotati routes — which winery gates take an extra ten minutes, which hotel entrance the vehicle actually fits. The standard is identical no matter which Irydn vehicle pulls up.

  • Flat-Rate Transfers, Quoted Upfront

Airport and point-to-point transfers are flat-rate and quoted before you book — tolls, fuel, and standard wait time included. No surge, no meter, no bridge-traffic surcharge. Wine tours are hourly with a daily minimum, because a tasting day isn't a transfer and a fixed price would either shortchange the day or pad the quote.

  • Flight Tracking + 24/7 Live Dispatch

Every SFO, OAK, SMF, and STS pickup is flight-tracked in real time, so your chauffeur is curbside whether you land early, late, or diverted. Dispatch answers the phone around the clock at (415) 237-0073 — dawn departures, red-eye arrivals, and overnight runs included.

  • Corporate Accounts & Consolidated Billing

Smoke-free, late-model, commercially insured vehicles backed by corporate account management, consolidated billing, and the discretion executive and group clients expect. One invoice, one point of contact, every ride documented.

  • Cotati & La Plaza Park

Cotati is built around one of only two hexagonal town plans in the country, and it sits at the fork where US-101 meets SR-116 — the point where a wine-country day commits to either the valley or the coast.

Step-by-step

How to book Cotati car service to San Francisco International (SFO) airport

A six-step walkthrough of the booking flow, from entering your Cotati pickup address to confirming a flat-rate quote with live flight tracking — or building a wine-country itinerary instead.

  1. 1

    Enter your Cotati pickup address

Start at /reservation/ and enter the full Cotati address — residential, corporate campus, hotel, inn, or winery. Gated-property access codes and specific entrance notes can be added to the booking notes. We pick up regularly near La Plaza Park, the Cotati SMART station, Old Redwood Highway.

  2. 2

Choose your destination and travel date

Northern California is a multi-airport market, so pick the airport that actually fits your itinerary. From Cotati the usual choice is San Francisco International (SFO), typically about 52–70 minutes off-peak via US-101 at SR-116. Building a tasting day instead? Enter your first winery and we'll route the rest.

  3. 3

Choose your vehicle and confirm party size

Pick the vehicle that fits the group: a mid-size luxury SUV (up to 4), a large luxury SUV (up to 6), an executive Sprinter van with captain's chairs (up to 11), a Sprinter passenger van (up to 14), or a luxury bus (up to 24). Every vehicle is late-model, commercially insured, and operated by a background-checked professional chauffeur under California PUC permit TCP 0039081A.

  4. 4

Add Meet & Greet or a tasting itinerary

Curbside airport pickup is standard and included in your flat-rate Cotati quote. Meet & Greet inside baggage claim with a name placard and luggage assistance is an optional add-on — worth it for long-haul arrivals into SFO or OAK. Wine tours can include cooler storage and glassware on request.

  5. 5

    Review your flat-rate quote

Your Cotati rate is quoted upfront — flat-rate and all-inclusive for transfers, hourly with a daily minimum for tours. No surge, no metered fares, no hidden fees. Tolls, fuel, and standard wait time are built in. Corporate accounts are active with Sonoma State University, Oliver's Market and other Sonoma County employers.

  6. 6

    Confirm and book

Complete your Cotati booking online in minutes or call our 24/7 dispatch line. You'll get an instant email confirmation with trip details, and your chauffeur's contact info the day of the trip. Real-time flight tracking is standard on every airport booking — pickup auto-adjusts for early arrivals and delays.
